January Jones in Marie Claire May 2011 UK Edition.

Recently, stunning and picture perfect Mad Men actress January Jones, has brought her fictional character Betty Draper to life,  for the May 2011 Marie Claire UK Edition photo shoot. During the shoot she wowed the photographer with her high cheekbones, effortless soft doll like facial features and her never ending limbs.
For those of you who do not know who Betty Draper is I will give you a quick summary. Betty Draper is a fictional 1960s suburban housewife. The character Betty Draper is known for her iconic fashion sense and portrays how the common housewife lived during that era. Betty Draper has often been compared to old Hollywood actresses such as Grace Kelly.
Grace Kelly in the Film 'High Society' (1956) with Frank Sinatra.

Anyway, January Jones really embodied her character Betty Draper in this perfectly styled photo shoot. The styling and the background setting gave Betty Draper a contemporary twist. In my opinion January Jones brought Betty’s innocence, naivety and a touch of her icy cold personality to the shoot. This is illustrated in Jones' body language and facial expressions. Furthermore, the make up and hair styling is classic Betty Draper style therefore, bringing old holly wood back to life.

The clothing is what I love most about this shoot! The outline of the dresses and the light silkiness of the materials makes Jones look sexy and sophisticated. Thus,  providing a touch of elegance ultimately bringing Betty Draper into the twenty first century. In addition, the nature of the vibrant and bold colours of the clothing is reminiscent of the 1970s and is currently on trend for spring 2011.

I for one will definitely buy this copy of Marie Claire. I hope you all do.
